Trumps Vice President

Trump Taps Vance for VP Slot

Trump's running mate has been a vocal critic of Trump

Trump's pick for vice president is a former Ohio governor and current U.S. senator.

Former President Donald Trump has chosen Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his vice presidential running mate, taking a once-strident critic of the former president into his inner circle as he prepares for a potential 2024 rematch against President Biden.

Trump announced his decision in a statement released by his Save America PAC on Friday, praising Vance as "a fighter for the forgotten men and women of our country" and "a true conservative who will stand up for our values and defend our way of life."

Vance, a former Marine and Yale Law School graduate, was a vocal critic of Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign, calling him "reprehensible" and "unfit for office." However, he has since become a strong supporter of Trump, praising him for his policies and his willingness to challenge the status quo.

In a statement released after Trump's announcement, Vance said he was "honored" to be chosen as Trump's running mate and that he looked forward to "fighting alongside him to make America great again."
