Meet Dan Hurley's Father, Bob Hurley Sr.: The Hall of Fame Coach Who Raised Two NCAA Icons

Every generation of basketball followers is familiar with the name Hurley.

From Dan, the current head coach of the UConn men's basketball team, to Bobby, the former All-American point guard and two-time national champion at Duke who is now the head coach at Arizona State, the Hurley family has a rich basketball history.

But it all started with their father, Bob Hurley Sr.

A Hall of Fame coach at St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, New Jersey, Bob Hurley Sr. is considered one of the greatest high school basketball coaches of all time. He led St. Anthony to 26 state championships and a national record 1,265 wins during his 42-year tenure.

In addition to his sons Dan and Bobby, Bob Hurley Sr. also coached other notable players, including NBA All-Stars Kyle Anderson and Sam Dalembert.
